Site-Based Program

Who is eligible to volunteer?
Any company, large, medium, or small, can be accommodated. Within a company, employee/mentoring volunteers must be at least 18-years-old, must be full time, and must be willing to undergo a criminal and background check.

What are the benefits?
Mentoring benefits youth by bolstering their self-esteem and receptivity to education. It benefits employee/volunteers by enhancing personal growth and corporate allegiance. It benefits companies by uplifting their public image, and by helping to strengthen the workforce of tomorrow.

Is the program costly?
Expenses can be surprisingly modest. The major expense revolves around freeing-up employees to spend one hour each week with a child. There are also associated costs with regard to refreshments, transportation, and background checks. We'd be happy to estimate what the costs might be for an On-Site Mentoring Program at your company.

What is the company expected to do?
After securing the endorsement of senior executives, and agreeing to host an on-site program; a company should indicate to its employees that the program is tremendously beneficial and worthy of their consideration and support. A company should also be prepared to empower an in-house liaison to make certain the program always runs efficiently.

What is Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters expected to do?
We will tailor a program to align with a company's particular mission, match a company with an appropriate school, recruit employee/mentors at the company, screen and train the recruited employee/mentors, help match the employee/mentors with the schoolchildren, provide ongoing support to the company to guarantee the program's success, consult with the company to leverage its embrace of the program for purposes of favorable public relations.

How do I investigate further?
Get in touch with us via telephone or e-mail. Ask us any questions you might have. Then, make an appointment with us to discuss the possibility of beginning an On-site Mentoring Program at your company. Or, if you prefer, ask to be put in contact with individuals at companies and schools we're currently partnering with in On-Site Mentoring ventures.
